In a move that has been rumored within the trading card industry for weeks, Panini America later today will announce that it has reached an exclusive agreement with Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.
The deal, alluded to early Tuesday morning in a tweet from CNBC Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell, is expected to be a multi-year agreement that has international potential and ends Bryant’s longtime association with Panini America rival Upper Deck.

Update: Upper Deck issued the following statement on Kobe Bryant’s signing with Panini America on Tuesday:
“Upper Deck would like to wish Kobe Bryant all the best on and off the court in the future. We have a signing scheduled with him shortly to handle outstanding redemption cards." |
