2020 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball cards may be an early-season release, but they’re heading towards the top of the high-end with a configuration that will likely be somewhere around $1,000 per hobby box. For that, collectors get six autographs and a pair of memorabilia cards.







Everything in the product is numbered to no more than 50 copies.

2020 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball Base Set Basics


As with past years for Definitive Baseball, Base Autograph Relics (/50 or less) make up the de facto base set. Swatches on these cards are over-sized. Parallels start with Green (/25) and Purple (/10). Several different one-of-one Red versions are also available including Brand Logo, Jersey Button, Laundry Tag, MLB Logo and Team Logo.


Autographs


Unless it’s a cut, all of the product’s autographs come with on-card signatures. These start with Definitive Autograph Collection, which mixes up vets, rookies and stars from the past.


Getting more focused are Definitive Rookie Autographs (/50), which focus exclusively on baseball’s young talent. Parallels include Green (/25), Purple (/10) and Red (1/1).


Legendary Autograph Collection is all about retired stars. Base versions have no more than 25 copies each with additional Purple (/5 or less) and one-of-one Red parallels.


Similar to the base cards but boasting a different design are Definitive Autographs Relics (/40 or less). Memorabilia pieces are oversized. Parallels include Green (/10), Purple (/5) and Red (1/1).







Framed Autographs (/30 or less) make an appearance in 2020 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball. All of these have metal frames surrounding the outside of the card. Purple (/10) and Red (1/1) versions are also available. Framed Autograph Patch cards (/30 or less) can also be found with similar parallels.


Dual Autographs have on-card ink from a pair of players. Base versions have 35 copies or less. Green (/10), Purple (/5) and Red (1/1) parallels can also be found. Continuing with the multi-player theme are Dual Autograph Relic cards. These also have no more than 35 copies as well as Purple (/10) and Red (1/1) parallels.


Autograph Patch Book Collection cards (/5 or less) open up to have the player and signature on one panel and a massive premium swatch on the other.


Cut Signatures are all one-of-ones.


New Additions


Defining Accolades Autographs and Defining the Decade Autographs are both new additions. Base versions top out at ten copies while parallels can be found in Purple (/5) and Red (1/1). The Defining Accolades checklist is all award winners while Defining the Decade subjects are league leaders from a specific ten-year frame.







Also new for 2020 are Definitive Ultra Autograph Ultra Patch Collection cards. These use large pieces of things like numbers, name plates and team logos.

Memorabilia Cards


Jumbo Relic Collection (/50) are the most plentiful memorabilia cards on the 2020 Topps Definitive Collection checklist. All use jumbo pieces of game-used gear. Parallels include Blue (/30), Green (/15), Purple (/5) and Red (1/1).


Definitive Helmet Collection (/50 or less) are one of the few places to find pieces of game-used helmets. Purple parallels have five copies each. These also have several one-of-one Red versions: MLB Logo, Rawlings Authentic Tag, Rawlings Logo and MPH.


Rounding out the relics are Definitive Nameplate Collection and Definitive Patch Collection cards. All of these are one-of-ones.
