2021-22 Topps Bundesliga offers up a flagship-style release. That means a sizeable checklist, several insert themes and a price point that’s intended to be more affordable than Topps Chrome and hits-driven high-end releases. It’s the first time that Topps has done this sort of release for the German soccer league.


2021-22 Topps Bundesliga Soccer Checklist Details

The core of any flagship release, no matter the sport, is its base set. Here, that means a 200-card checklist. Virtually all of that centers around standard player cards. However, there are a pair of ten-card subsets for highlights and player combos.






Parallels come in several levels, most of which are serial numbered:

• Fuchsia Foilboard – /125
• Blue Foilboard – /99
• Silver Foilboard – /75
• Gold Foilboard – /50
• Orange Foilboard – /25

Autographs

For those who chase autographs, it’s important to note that they’re not guaranteed here at the box level.







Base Autographs are available for more than 40 players. These are essentially the same as their main card with the added signature. Parallels include Gold Foilboard (/25), Black Foilboard (/10), Red Foilboard (/5) and FoilFractors (1/1). These combine to land approximate 1:5 hobby boxes.



Additional Inserts


Although autographs are on the tough side, other insert sets are plentiful in 2021-22 Topps Bundesliga. Not only are there several themes to chase, but most fall multiple times per box.


The most common insert in the product is Team Captains. Cards in this 18-card set are 1:4 packs, which should mean six per box.







Defense Fortresses (18 cards, 1:5 packs) puts the spotlight on top defenders, something that is often overlooked in the hobby.








A name that’s part of Topps’ history is Future Stars. It is one that is likely to be familiar with soccer collectors as it’s been making regular appearances in various Topps Chrome products of late. Landing 1:6 packs, 18 youthful talents make up the checklist here.







Foreign Bundesliga Sensations (18 cards, 1:8 packs) is all about players who have come to the league from other parts of the world.


At 1:24 packs, or one per box, Golden Generation is one of the set’s toughest inserts.






All of the above chase sets have five levels of parallels as well: Gold Foilboard (/50), Orange Foilboard (/25), Red Foilboard (/5), Printing Plates (1/1) and FoilFractors (1/1).


Select cards in Defense Fortresses, Foreign Bundesliga Sensations, Futures Stars, and Team Captains also have autographs and their own one-of-one Foilfractors.







Rounding out the checklist is the ten-card Record Breakers. At 1:144 packs, these are not easy to find. Orange Foilboard (/25), Red Foilboard (/5) and FoilFractors (1/1) are the only parallels here.
