Max Scherzer and Alexei Ramirez are the final players named to the 2008 SPx Baseball set
North Las Vegas, NV (October 7, 2008) – The final two players for the 2008 SPx Baseball Mystery Autograph Redemption set are no longer a mystery. Max Scherzer of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Alexei Ramirez of the Chicago White Sox represent the last two of seven players to be highlighted in this special set.
And Scherzer, for one, knows how to make a debut. In his first MLB appearance – against the Houston Astros – he threw 4 1/3 perfect innings while striking out seven. He set a new league record for the most consecutive batters retired (13) in a MLB debut. Scherzer will be card #150 in the set or “RR5” for the redemption.
Ramirez, meanwhile, earned his nickname – the “Cuban Missile” – because of his formidable mix of power and speed. The talented second baseman hit .290 this season with 21 home runs to help lead the White Sox make the playoffs. Ramirez will be card #152 in the set or “RR7” for the redemption.
