2019 Upper Deck Marvel Premier trading cards mark the return of the high-end comic line. Produced in limited quantities with a checklist that stresses premium content, Premier is in a league of its own, even among some of Upper Deck’s other Marvel lines.
Boxes have just one pack of five cards. Of those two have sketches. And of those sketch cards, one is either a mutli-panel card or it’s an oversized piece.
2019 Upper Deck Marvel Premier Base Set Basics
The base set isn’t very. It has just 50 cards. However, each has just 100 copies at the main level. Combine that with high initial price tag and this isn’t going to be an easy set to finish.
In addition to the base set are several parallels: Blue Cyan (/50), Red Foil (/30), Gold Spectrum (/15), Purple Foil (/5) and Black (1/1)
All base cards use original art.
Inserts
2019 Upper Deck Marvel Premier sticks with the line’s tradition of having a large sketch card per box. These come in a few different forms. The multi-panel cards stretch across two, three or four panels. Over-sized sketch cards measure 5″x7″.
The second sketch in each box is character-focused, matching up with subjects from the base set.
Marvel Premier sketch cards are generally higher quality than the ones found in other sets. This comes through with more detail, color and other intricacies.
A couple of other inserts are also in 2019 Upper Deck Marvel Premier. Shadow Box cards return. This time for the cards’ layers, it’s based on colors.
New to the product is Written in the Stars. These imagine Marvel characters as constellations.
Both the Color Box Shadowbox and Written in the Stars sets have multiple levels of short prints.
