Following in the footsteps of the earlier Active Player version (and similar set from the past few years), 2020 Topps Archives Signature Series Baseball: Retired Player Edition offers buyback autographs. And everyone in the product is from the past.
In a nutshell, each box has one card — an autograph on an already released Topps card from the past. They might be modern cards, but they could be vintage. Inserts with fresh ink are also a possibility. Dual autographs are also randomly inserted.
Cards get a special gold foil stamp noting it’s part of the Archives Signature Series line as well as the year. Cards also come encased.
It’s worth noting that the name of the set is Retired Player Edition, not Hall of Fame. So while everyone is from the past, the star power on the checklist will vary.
Typically Archives Signature Series sets use several cards per player. This allows for pretty much everything to come with low serial numbers including an abundance of one-of-ones.
