Of course the zombies are on the move once again. 2016 Cryptozoic Walking Dead Season 4 Part 2 trading cards wrap up what the first half started.

If you’ve worked on other sets based on TV version of The Walking Dead, much of the configuration will feel the same.

Autographs and Wardrobe cards are both inserted one per box. Sketch cards, which have been very popular with the franchise, are also randomly inserted.


Like the third season, the fourth season of TV’s top-rated series got split in half in large part because of licensing. Cryptozoic is only allowed to use a certain number of characters per product. With such a big cast, two separate products are required to do the story justice. That cast continued to grow in season four with the introductions of Abraham, Gareth, Rosita, Bob and others. Of course, there were plenty of notable “departures” as well.

Base cards use images from the show. How big that set is has yet to be revealed, although they do have Printing Plate parallels.
Autographs return in 2016 Cryptozoic Walking Dead Season 4 Part 2 at a rate of one per box. Signers will be announced only after the cards are signed and returned to the card maker.

Wardrobe cards, the second box hit, have a piece of a production-used costume embedded in them. Pieces come from both the main cast and Walkers.

Basic inserts include Characters, Posters and Reunion.

Sketch cards are also randomly inserted. In past releases, these have been some of the most popular cards outside of just a handful of rarities.

A binder is available separately. It’s packaged with an exclusive card not available in packs.

With both the 2016 Cryptozoic Walking Dead Season 4 Part 1 and Part 2 sets slated to arrive a short time apart, the autograph checklists for both have some overlap. But, like all of their previous lineups for the show, they both include key players among the show’s leads. Exactly how many remains to be seen.

Among those in both sets are Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), arguably the most important people on the show. Highlights on the Part 1 autographs checklist also include Melissa McBride (Carol), Emily Kinney (Beth) and Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese). So far, both only signed for season three sets before this. The Part 2 checklist has Andrew J. West (Gareth) and Lawrence Gilliard Jr, among others.

These are the final sets of Walking Dead trading cards from Cryptozoic who have held the license since season one. Topps is taking over starting with season five in the fall. Topps has also launched a Walking Dead trading card app.

The latest schedule has 2016 Cryptozoic Walking Dead Season 4 Part 1 releasing on May 25 and Part 2 about a month later on June 29. Both are subject to change.
