Sketch Card Gallery (HUGE): Justice League Trading Cards – The latest DC Comics themed trading card set from Cryptozoic Entertainment is scheduled for release Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016. Titled Justice League, the set focuses on the numerous superheroes who have taken up membership in the elite organization throughout the years.

The set will mark one of the first releases with the company’s new photo set version. Geared towards the set collector, the new photo sets consist of a complete base set as well as four complete chase sets – Retro, Madame Xanadu Tarot Cards, Model Sheets & Classic Comics!

2016 Cryptozoic Justice League Trading Cards Bring a Little Help from Some Super Friends



Whether you’re excited for Batman v Superman or dreading it, the film is going to bring a lot of attention to the biggest heroes in the DC Comics universe. 2016 Cryptozoic Justice League trading cards are based in the comics realm, offering a look at some of the most iconic and enduring characters to ever take flight or have a cool utility belt in comics history.

The product comes with a good assortment of card types including a sketch card in every box.


Base Set

The 2016 Cryptozoic Justice League base set has 63 cards. Like other DC sets from the manufacturer, all of the art is new to the set. As far as the images themselves, the base set has seven different nine-card puzzles. These consist of collages for various versions of the Justice League. It’s not recycled from other products. Card backs are done by DC writer Adam Beechen.

He’s also doing the text for the inserts.

Base cards have Silver Foil Board and Printing Plate parallels. These also carry through much of the product’s basic inserts.  




Inserts

The key inserts in 2016 Cryptozoic Justice League are sketch cards. Original art on these cards is done by a mix of comic artists and others commissioned by Cryptozoic. Basic sketch cards and Madame Xanadu Tarot Sketch Cards combine to fall one per box. Collectors can also find Hall of Justice sketch cards that are done with a die-cut design. Random boxes also have an over-sized box topper sketch.

Totally Fabricated (1:192 packs) cards carry over from past DC-themed sets. These imagine what relics might be like if the Justice League was real. The premium-style inserts carry over to Relica Patch cards (1:96).

On a per-box basis, 2016 Cryptozoic Justice League trading cards have a lot more basic inserts than a lot of other sets. Some of the Topps Batman cards from the 1960s get a modern makeover with Batman Classic TV series Cryptomium Reissue cards (1:24). Other inserts include Classic Comics (1:4), Madame Xanadu Tarot cards (1:4) and Model Sheets (1:4).

Blank Cover box toppers don’t have much in the way of graphics on the front. However, collectors can use them as a canvas for their own custom artwork or as a commission at a show.

A binder is available separately that comes with an exclusive Totally Fabricated card.
