Upper Deck Reveals Fourth SPx Baseball Mystery Redemption



Oakland A’s defensive speedster Carlos Gonzalez makes his big league debut in 2008 SPx Baseball



North Las Vegas, NV (June 24, 2008) – The Oakland A’s consistently are credited with being a hotbed for young talent. This year is no different as their rookie centerfielder Carlos Gonzalez is already making an impression with A’s fans after he successfully stole home this week as the back end of a double steal. Fans of this young talent can now find him as a part of the 2008 SPx mystery rookie redemption program. Gonzalez will be card #147 in the set or “RR2” for the redemption. Every SPx Baseball mystery rookie redemption card will be autographed.



“Carlos Gonzalez has demonstrated an amazing ability to hit for both average and power in his short professional career,” said Steven Judd, Upper Deck’s Baseball product manager. “This type of ability will pave the way for him to have a tremendous future.”



Upper Deck will announce every week a new rookie redemption player until all seven players have been revealed. Gonzalez joins Evan Longoria of the Rays, Clayton Kershaw of Dodgers and Jay Bruce of the Reds as the first four rookies to be announced in this program
