As far as brand debuts go, the one Panini America’s Spectra made last season in both football and basketball was . . . well . . . spectracular. The shiny, colorful Prizm-infused phenomenon resonated with collectors from the get-go, bolstered by stunning Optichrome technology, a rainbow array of colorful parallels, and the inclusion of compelling autograph and memorabilia content. That recipe will return largely intact for 2014 Spectra Football when the product arrives in hobby shops across North America in early March.

Every 16-card box of 2014 Spectra Football will deliver a staggering 10 autograph or memorabilia cards and two Prizm parallels on average. Every card produced for 2014 Spectra Football will be numbered to 199 or less and the base set will once again feature a bold arsenal of numbered parallels that includes Blue, Orange, Red Die-Cuts and Black Die-Cuts. 2014 Spectra Football includes a stunning Rookie Jersey Autographs insert that features a full complement of parallels including Red and Black Patch versions and rare Nike Swoosh, NFL Shield and NFL Players Inc. logo chases. Spectra’s other highlights are many and include . . .

• Supersized slices of rookie memorabilia in the Rookie Jumbo Jerseys insert.
• The addition of stunning new autograph memorabilia chases in the Leading Men Materials Signatures and Aspiring Signatures Materials inserts.
• Teammates, rivals and positional standouts are matched up on the Combo Rookie Jersey insert featuring scarce Patch versions.
• The game’s brightest young stars are showcased on the Building Blocks insert that features Memorabilia and Patch versions.

Panini America Delivers a Pre-Packout Peek at 2014 Spectra Football (67 Must-See Pics)



While many of us from Panini America have spent the last few days at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis securing autographs for our first products of the 2015 NFL Season (2015 Contenders Draft Picks Football, anyone?), many others stayed back at HQ to put the finishing touches on the final products of the 2014 NFL season, including 2014 Spectra Football, one of three remaining powerhouses that will conclude Panini America’s 2014 NFL calendar.

Panini America’s Football Product Development Team began the pre-packout process for 2014 Spectra Football late last week in advance of the product’s March 4 release date. Luckily for all of us, Assistant Brand Manager Thomas Barchi used his smartphone to document just some of the gems he came across during the process. In the pre-packout gallery that follows, we combine Barchi’s images with some of the other 2014 Spectra Football images we’ve captured during the development cycle to bring you a revealing pre-release look at the product.
