A reconfigured look for Five Star means two new things — a lower price and two autographed cards per pack.

Topps revealed the details for the latest edition of the company’s high-end brand on Friday, confirming its plans previously announced. When Five Star arrives for the fourth time in baseball card history on Sept. 30, it will include a mix of players from the past and present as well as some new inclusions.



The Five Star Autographs set will include more than 100 players with all of them signing on-card. These will have four parallels — Gold (/50), Rainbow (/25), Emerald (/5) and a 1/1 Five Star version. Also in the mix will be Five Tools autographs showcasing all-around players and they will be limited to only 25 copies.

The metallic-ink autographs will also be back with Silver Signatures limited to only 50 copies and Golden Graphs the same. These sets will both have six parallels — Purple (/25), Blue (/20), Green (/15), Gold (/10), Orange (/5) and 1/1 Red autos.

For autographed Relic collectors there will be MLB logo patches — 1/1 cards — along with Jumbo Patch autos, which will be limited to 35 copies with parallels limited to 10 (Gold), five (Rainbow) and one (Five Star).

A selection of 1/1 cut signatures will be included and new this year will be Hall of Fame Class Cuts that will combine Cooperstown inductees. Another cut option will be Legendary Lineups booklets with teams such as the 1961 New York Yankees.
A preliminary checklist was not released.
