2016 Topps WWE Undisputed is Autograph-a-mania




2016 Topps WWE Undisputed is sticking with the high-end concept and configuration it brought with it in the brand’s debut. Once again there’s a hit per pack and everything is done with a premium feel.

Each box has six autographs plus a pair of autographed relics.



Base Set



The 2016 Topps WWE Undisputed base set has a similar look to last year. The nameplates has been tweaked slightly and the background is a little darker but the general layout remains the same. The checklist features 100 wrestlers from both the current roster and decades past.

Parallels are named after various WWE championships. Tag Team Bronze are the most common and come numbered to 99. Other parallels include Divas Championship Silver (/66), United States Championship Blue (/25), Intercontinental Championship Gold (/10) and World Heavyweight Championship Red (1/1). Base cards also have one-of-one Printing Plates.


Autographs



Undisputed Autographs make up the bulk of the signed cards in the product. WWE Superstars, NXT prospects and Legends are all included. While there will be repeat signers from 2015 Topps WWE Undisputed like Roman Reigns, some are new. Sting is confirmed by Topps for the product.

This year the base versions come serial numbered to 299. Last year only parallels came numbered.

Speaking of which, parallels here have the same levels and numbering as the base set.

Family Ties Dual Autographs pair up signatures from people who are related.

In recent months, storylines have given rise to a growing number of groups in WWE. Faction Triple Autograph book cards (/10) have three signatures, all of whom are connected (or were in case the faction has broken up by the time the cards release).

Dual and triple autographs both use stickers.

Autographed Superstar Sketch Cards feature artwork from multiple people including Finn Balor and Jerry Lawler. These are also signed on the back. Because each is unique, they’re all considered one-of-ones.

A handful of wrestlers are featured in Tribute Cut Signatures (1/1).


Relics

This time out, there are basic relics. All of the hits in 2015 Topps WWE Undisputed were autographed. Undisputed Relics are the only basic memorabila cards. They come with a piece of clothing worn by the featured star and are numbered to 175


Autographed Relics



Undisputed Autographed Relics are exactly like they’re named. They have a clothing swatch and a sticker autograph. They have the same six parallels as the base cards and Undisputed Autographs.

Packing several elements into one card, Autographed Divas Kiss and Clothing Books are numbered to 5. They have a kiss imprint and signature on one side of the card and their image and an over-sized swatch on the other.


Inserts



2016 Topps WWE Undisputed has three basic inserts that compliment the base set. NXT Prospects (30 cards) are the easiest to find landing 1:3 packs. Others include Divas Revolution (30 cards, 1:5) and Undisputed Tag Teams (40 cards, 1:4).

Each of these sets can also be found with the six styles of parallels that the base set has. Numbering is also the same.

Although not cheap by any means, if 2016 Topps WWE Undisputed is received like the first set, it will mean a lot of autograph cards that can actually be more affordable than products that are deemed cheaper. That’s because most other Topps WWE products don’t offer more than one autograph per hobby box let alone eight. Sets like this bring a lot of autographs to the market all at once.
