It’s not like Panini America’s upcoming 2016-17 Preferred Basketball product needs a massive development — like Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller returning his autographs to NBA trading cards for the first time in a decade — to generate huge demand. As it has been since the Preferred product first debuted in 2011, collector interest in the product is strong to quite strong thanks to a virtually unrivaled mix of unique content that includes the industry’s most creative booklets, to-die-for die-cuts and loaded autograph and memorabilia content.

Of course, adding an elusive Hall of Famer like Miller to the mix only sweetens the Preferred proposition. Set to arrive in late August, each four-card box of the all-thriller, no-filler 2016-17 Preferred Basketball will deliver two autographs and two memorabilia cards.

• The Vs. 1 ON 1 booklets offer a unique look at in-game action featuring some of the NBAs most electric matchups and game-worn memorabilia.

• Collect the top rookies from the 2016-17 class on one of the most eye-catching booklet designs of the year: Rookie Playbooks Prime.

• Preferred Basketball features unique designs, on-card autographs and some of the most sought-after jumbo prime memorabilia cards in the hobby with Silhouettes, Rookie Silhouettes and Prime versions of each.

When it gets right down to it, you can sum up the collective collecting fascination for Panini America’s vaunted Preferred brand in about six or seven words: Silhouettes. Crown die-cuts. Memorabilia booklets. Autographs. To be sure, those are the most appealing attributes that have made the Preferred franchise a late-season staple during each of the last six seasons. And when 2016-17 Preferred Basketball arrives next week in hobby shops across North America, they’ll be leading the charge yet again.

Actually, you can add two more words to that list this season: Reggie and Miller. In addition to delivering an exciting array of new booklets and an arsenal of compelling design updates (including a new take on the fabled Silhouettes design), 2016-17 Preferred Basketball also delivers the first Miller certified autographs in several years — and they are spectacular.


On average, each four-card hobby box of 2016-17 Preferred Basketball will yield two autographs and two memorabilia booklets from a stacked lineup that includes the drool-worthy NBA Finals Booklets featuring game-worn jerseys from NBA Finals 2016.
