Sports cards aren’t all cardboard. 2019 Panini Elements Football goes beyond in a couple of directions using materials like metal and acetate for much of the product’s run.


The release comes with four cards per box. Two are autographs, one’s a memorabilia card and the final one is a metal base card or parallel.


2019 Panini Elements Football Base Set Basics


The main set is an all-metal affair for both veterans and rookies. Despite the strong stock, photography is still a focus. Colors pop a little differently on metal so the look will be unique compared to more traditional card sets.






Base versions are numbered to 75. Parallels include Gold (/25), Cobalt (/10) and Platinum (1/1).


Autographs and Memorabilia Cards


Autograph cards in the product are where some of the card stock variety comes into play. Metal is a focal point for several of them.


RPS Rookie Signatures (/199 or less) have on-card ink from key 2019 draft picks. Parallels include Gold (/50 or less), Red (/25 or less), Cobalt (/10 or less), Black (/5 or less) and Platinum (1/1).


Coming with a similar design but with veterans and retired stars is Steel Signatures (/149 or less). The only parallels here are Gold (/50 or less) and Platinum (1/1).








Mettle Moments Signatures (/49 or less) spotlight a major moment in NFL history on metal stock similar to the main set. The autograph comes on-card.







The autographs aren’t all metal. Acetate also comes into play for a couple of insert collections.



Rookie Neon Material Signs have pieces of clear acetate to hold the signature. Print runs start at 199 or less for base versions. Parallels come in Blue (/125 or less), Red (/50 or less), Purple (/25 or less) and Yellow (1/1).



There are also Rookie Neon Material Signs versions that overlay the autograph on top of a jumbo memorabilia swatch. These max out at 25 copies and have additional Prime (/15 or less) and Shield (1/1) parallels.



Similar Neon Signs cards have current and past players. These come with horizontal Tier 1 and vertical Tier 2 versions. Base for both are numbered to 125 and under. Parallels include Blue (/50 or less), Red (/10 or less), Purple (/5 or less) and Yellow (1/1).








Among the memorabilia offerings in 2019 Panini Elements Football are three dual-piece sets: Elements of Success (/199 or less), Opposing Elements and Transitions Materials.

It’s safe to say that Panini America’s Elements Football franchise made the most of the offseason by adding some exciting new elements to the checklist for 2019, not the least of which are trapped-memorabilia acetate rookie autographs and ink-color variances on the Metal Rookie Autographs. Both additions are sure to be well received by collectors when 2019 Elements Football arrives in hobby shops across North America on Friday.


On average, each hobby box (four cards per box, 12 boxes per case) will deliver two autographs, one memorabilia card and one base or parallel Metal card. In the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, we showcase just some of the gems that surfaced during the recent packout process.

One thing to note: Tom Brady’s autographs arrived just after packout and were inserted as redemptions. But the cards will be available to fulfill as soon as the product goes live.
