2020 Bowman Draft Baseball is home to the first cards of June’s draft picks in their MLB uniforms. It also has all the usual features of the main Bowman line including Chrome cards, autographs and lots of Refractors.

The set has two configurations. Hobby HTA boxes include three total autographs and 24 Refractors. Super jumbo boxes have five autographs and 40 of the colorful Chrome parallels.


2020 Bowman Draft Baseball Base Set Basics

The Bowman Draft base set consists entirely of draft picks and other prospects working their way through the MiLB ranks. As with past years for the line, cards have both Bowman and Bowman Chrome versions. It’s kind of like having two products in the same package.







For regular Bowman cards, parallels include:

• Sky Blue – /499
• Purple – /250
• Blue – /150
• Green – /99
• Gold – /50
• Orange – /25
• Red – /5
• Printing Plates – 1/1
• Black – 1/1
  

For Chrome base cards, it’s pretty much all about Refractors and their rainbow-colored backgrounds:

• Refractors
• Sky Blue Refractors (1:12 hobby packs)
• Sparkle Refractors
• Purple Refractors – /250
• Blue Refractors – /150
• Green Refractors – /99
• Gold Refractors – /50
• Orange Refractors – /25
• Red Refractors – /5

Chrome cards also have one-of-one Printing Plates. Each of these have Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow versions.


Both the Bowman Orange and Chrome Orange Refractors are only in hobby HTA packs, not jumbo. The same holds true for the Sky Blue Refractors.


Some base cards also have Image Variations.


2020 Bowman Draft Baseball Autographs

Chrome Draft Pick Autographs are the main chase as far as signatures go. These are the third and final installment of prospect-focused autographs for the season following cards found in 2020 Bowman and 2020 Bowman Chrome.

Signers here come from the 2020 MLB Draft, which means it’s their first MLB autographs. Historically, these go on to become the players’ key cards, often outpacing their top Rookie Cards.


Cards carry a design that’s virtually identical to the Bowman Chrome base cards. This carries over to the parallels as well:

Black and Orange Refractors are a couple more hobby HTA-exclusives.


Image Variation Autographs come with a similar design but different photos. They’re also numbered to 99.


Other signature inserts in 2020 Bowman Draft Baseball include Draft Night Autographs (/99), Class of 2020 Autographs (/250) and and Franchise Futures Dual Autographs (/99). Each of these have additional Gold Refractors (/50), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1). All except Class of 2020 also have hobby HTA-only Orange Refractors (/25).


Under Armour Game Autographs (/199) continue. These have signatures from the high school showcase, before players got drafted.


Inserts

While a lot of the focus is on autographs, there are other insert sets as well.


Franchise Futures and Glimpses of Greatness are both 1:3 hobby HTA packs and have Refractors (/250), Green Refractors (/99), Gold Refractors (/50), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1).





20 in ’20 takes a bit of a deeper dive into top picks and what collectors and fans might expect from them in the years ahead. Regular versions are 1:6 hobby HTA packs or approximately two per box. Parallels include Refractors (/250), Green Refractors (/99), Gold Refractors (/50), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1). Autographs can also be found. Base versions have 99 copies each with Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1) also available.






New are Applied Pressure inserts cast players against a diamond backdrop. Tougher than 20 in ’20, these are 1:12 HTA packs. The Refractor mix is a little different as well with Atomic Refractors (/150), Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1). Autographs for select cards are numbered to 99. These have three levels of Refractors: Orange (/25), Red (/5) and Superfractor (1/1).



Hobby HTA Box Toppers





2020 Bowman Draft Baseball hobby HTA boxes come with an additional Top of the Class box topper. These oversized cards come on Chrome stock and cover top 2020 picks.


Parallels include Gold Refractors (/50), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1).


Select cards also have autographs that have 35 copies each.
