2021 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball promises some big things with its name. And while it’s not going to be cheap, the all-hits release has lots of super premium elements. Autographs are on-card. Memorabilia pieces include ones that are big and others that come from pieces not often used in cards. All told, hobby boxes deliver eight cards–six autographs and a pair of relics.


No card in the product has more than 50 copies.


2021 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball Checklist: What to Look For

Although 2021 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball is all hits, there is a base set. Like past years, they’re done as autograph relics with print runs of 50 or less. Parallels start with Green (/25) and Purple (/1). There are also a handful of one-of-one Red versions: Team Logo, MLB Silhouetted Batter Logo, Jersey Brand Logo, Jersey Button and Laundry Tag.


Autographs

More signature memorabilia cards are available in Definitive Autographed Relics (/40 or less). These have jumbo swatches and pieces of gear. The parallel lineup includes Green (/10), Purple (/5) and Red (1/1).







Definitive Autographs (/50 or less) take a broad approach to their subjects. Veterans, rookies and greats from the past all appear on this part of the checklist. One-of-one Red is the lone parallel.






Legendary Autograph Collectors (/25 or less) and Definitive Rookie Autographs (/50) narrow their focus. Legendary Autographs also have Purple (/5 or less) and Red (1/1) versions while rookies have Green (/25), Purple (/10) and Red (1/1).






Framed Autographs  and Framed Autograph Patch stand out a little more thanks to the metal surrounding it on the outside. In both instances, base versions have 30 copies or less.


Autograph Ultra Patch Collection cards have a puzzle element. Each has a large piece of number, nameplate or team patch. Individually, they make one piece of the greater whole. Finding additional cards makes it possible to complete the piece.


Autographed Patch Book Collection (/5 or less) open up to showcase hard signatures alongside large pieces of premium patches.



Dual Autographs (/35) are just that, featuring a variety of pairings of current players, rookies and famous names from the past. The two-player theme carries over to Dual Autographed Relic Collection (/35 or less). Parallels are available in Purple (/10 or less) and Red (1/1).


Definitive Cur Signatures (1/1) are also randomly inserted.


New Autograph Themes

2021 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball has a couple new signature inserts. Defining Seasons Autographs (/25 or less), look back on a player’s stellar season. Defining Images Autograph Collection (/25 or less) use photography from a major moment. Both of these have additional Green (/10), Purple (/5) and Red (1/1) parallels.







Protectors at the Plate Relics (/25) and Autograph Relics (/5) also make their debut. These all have pieces of protective equipment like shin guards and pads.








Memorabilia Cards

Relics in 2020 Topps Definitive Collection Baseball aren’t your typical small, single-color swatch cards.


Jumbo Relic Collection (/50) might not have the most dazzling pieces, but they are oversized. Additional Blue (/30), Green (/15), Purple (/5) and Red (1/1) versions are available here.


Definitive Helmet Collection (/50 or less) returns with pieces of batting helmets. In addition to Purple parallels that have five copies, there are four different Red one-of-ones: MLB Silhouetted Batter Logo, Rawlings Authentic Tag, Rawlings Logo and MPH.


The final two memorabilia sets in 2020 Topps Definitive Collection are all one-of-ones: Definitive Nameplate Collection and Definitive Patch Collection.
