2021 Topps Five Star Baseball is for collectors looking for autographs. As a matter of fact, that’s all you’re going to find busting into one of the small, two-card boxes. Every card in the high-end product has a signature. And in the vast majority of instances, ink is on-card.
2021 Topps Five Star Baseball Checklist Overview
When Five Star made its baseball debut in 2012, it marked the high point of Topps’ portfolio much like Exquisite was for Upper Deck and Panini’s National Treasures. That’s not so much the case anymore, especially with Transcendent’s five-figure box prices and Dynasty’s combination of autographs, patches and microscopic print runs. That said, Five Star remains very much focused on the premium card market with its autograph focus.
Five Star Autographs make up the base portion of the product. Intricate foil accents make up the biggest design feature, opening up plenty of space for the on-card signatures.

Parallels include Purple (/50), Blue (/25), Green (/15), Gold (/10), Orange (/5) and Red (1/1).

Dual (/10 or less) and Triple Autographs (/5 or less) maintain the hard ink.
Silver Signatures (/40 or less) and Golden Graphs (/40) are both case hits. They get their name from the color of the ink used for the autographs. These also have Purple (/25), Blue (/20), Green (/15), Gold (/10), Orange (/5) and Red (1/1) versions.

Pentamerous Penmanship (/25 or less) returns with its shadowbox design elements that give cards a layered look. Green (/10), Gold (/5), Orange (/3) and Red (1/1) are the parallels here. Dual-player versions are also on the checklist, although they’re tough with no more than five copies each.

Five Tool Phenom (/25 or less) and Five Star Signatures (/20 or less) are among the other autographs in 2021 Topps Five Star Baseball.
As far as cards that aren’t on-card go, they’re scarce. Cut Signatures and Celebrity Cut Signatures are all one-of-ones.
New this year are Five Stars Autographs (/5). Using both sides of the card, these have five different signatures.

Autographed Memorabilia Cards
Autographed Jumbo Prime Relics add in a massive piece of gear and a checklist that is a mix of current and retired players. Base versions have a maximum of 25 copies while additional parallels start with Gold (/10), Silver Rainbow (/5) and Button (/5).

These also have four different one-of-one versions, each of which comes from a different uniform piece: Brand Patch, Laundry Tag, MLB Silhouetted Batter Logo and Team Patch.
