2022 Topps Chrome Formula 1 brings with it another season of colorful racer cards and other highlights. For its third year, the checklist continues to be driven by lots of parallels with autographs and other inserts adding to the chase.


Two configurations are available at the hobby level. Traditional hobby boxes included one dual-color Refractor. Hobby LITE boxes, which skip the autographs, come with a slightly different mix of parallels including four exclusive Black and White RayWave Refractors.

Made up of 200 cards, the base set covers both F1 and F2 racers and crew as well as other race highlights and honors.






And then there are the parallels. This year, there are more than 20 of them. Some are exclusive to hobby while others are only in hobby LITE. Most, though, are available in both places:

Some base cards also get the Image Variations treatment, short prints that look like base cards but have different photos.


Autographs and Inserts


Autographs are exclusive to regular hobby packs. At the same time, they’re not a guaranteed box hit.


Taking on a similar design as the base set, parallels include Green Refractors (/99), Gold Refractors (/50), Gold Wave Refractors (/50), Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5), Printing Plates (1/1) and Superfractors (1/1).






2022 Topps Chrome Formula 1 has four insert sets that are new to the line.


1968 Topps Hot Rods (1:3 packs) go back in time with a design inspired by the namesake set of trading cards. F1 and F2 cars are the stars on these.





Constructors Coalition (1:6 packs) centers on teammates while Speed Demons (1:6 packs) looks at fast drivers.





All three of these sets have additional Gold Refractors (/50), Gold Wave Refractors (/50), Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5), Printing Plates (1/1) and Superfractors (1/1).


Art du Grand Prix adds an artist’s perspective to the 2022 Topps Chrome Formula 1 checklist. In a partnership with Automobilist, these inserts are designed to resemble race posters from five Grand Prix circuits. Refractors for these are limited to Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5) and Superfractors (1/1). Printing Plates are also included.
