2022-23 Panini Obsidian Soccer brings back the striking dark look the line is known for. Combining chromium and designs that are predominantly black, the checklist leans high-end with more than half of the cards in every hobby box being either autographs or memorabilia.

2022-23 Panini Obsidian Soccer Checklist Overview

More than 40 teams are represented on the 2022-23 Obsidian Soccer checklist. It’s a mix of international squads and Premier League teams so it really does cross boundaries.






The 200-card base set is a challenging one. Size-wise, it might not sound big. But when you consider there’s just one base card per pack, locating any particular card is bound to be a challenge over time.

Players are cast against a black backdrop with etching adding both contrast and some added flash. It’s also where collectors will find most of the product’s parallels that fall under the Electric Etch banner. This year includes new Purple Flood (/25) and Gold Flood (/10) versions that switch out the black. Contra parallels are case hits.





Autographs and memorabilia cards collide in four sets: Matrix Material Autographs, Jersey Autographs, Dual Jersey Ink and Volcanic Material Signatures.





Lightning Strike and Volcanic Signatures are among the autograph-only inserts.





The Obsidian checklist has five memorabilia themes as well including Galaxy Gear.






Standard inserts bring back some familiar names such as Vitreous, Supernova, Tunnel Vision and Equinox. These combine to land one per box.
