Our original content plan today for The Knight’s Lance included showcasing the top-to-bottom results of the recently completed packout process for the upcoming 2015 Elite Baseball. But a funny thing happened on the way to executing that plan: We got our first glimpse of the on-card autographs that have been returned so far for 2015 Immaculate Baseball, a product that releases later this summer.

So, we’ll bring you the massive 2015 Elite Baseball Quality Control Gallery tomorrow, a full week ahead of release. In the meantime, here’s a revealing peek at Immaculate Baseball’s immaculate ink — a stunning assortment of hard-signed Shadowbox Signatures, Panini Heroes, All-Star Autographs, The Greatest Signatures and more.

Panini America Provides Detailed First Look at 2015 Immaculate Baseball (Gallery)



Over the course of the last few weeks here on The Knight’s Lance, we’ve delivered some must-see first looks at the early hard-signed returns for Panini America’s upcoming 2015 Immaculate Baseball, the highly anticipated follow-up to last season’s remarkable baseball debut. Today, we’re prepared to pull the curtain back just a little bit more with a deeper dive into product specifics.

The Immaculate brand’s rousing introduction to America’s pastime last year immediately raised the bar for any future iterations, and Panini America’s Baseball Product Development Team has taken that challenge to heart. For starters, the legendary Babe Ruth has been added to the product’s rich roster of memorabilia content. The Sultan of Swat will appear in seven different game-worn or game-used memorabilia inserts. Trust us, there are other enhancements for the 2015 edition, too.


Bat Knobs and Bat Nameplates have increased in quantity from 10 in 2014 to 70 in 2015; and the spectacular Jumbo Cleats insert, perhaps last season’s most trailblazing inclusion, has expanded its player roster from just six players in 2014 to a whopping 25 in 2015 (featuring the addition of Ichiro, Mike Trout, Kris Bryant and Barry Bonds). 2015 Immaculate Baseball also delivers the baseball debut of the striking Shadowbox Signatures insert featuring on-card autographs from the likes of Bryant, Bo Jackson, Pete Rose, Rickey Henderson, George Brett, Ken Griffey Jr. and more).

Set to release in late August, each six-card box of 2015 Immaculate Baseball will deliver five autograph or memorabilia cards and one base card. As you might expect, the highlights of the product are many and include . . .

• Massive memorabilia, the bread and butter of Immaculate, returns with a stunning ensemble that includes oversized pieces of game-worn jerseys, cleats, batting gloves, fielding gloves, patches, numbers and more.
• The wow-factor Immaculate Nine insert features nine players and nine pieces of memorabilia on one card numbered to 10 or less and bolstered by one amazing checklist.
• The Rookie Material Prime Autos insert features autographs of 2015 rookies paired with a prime piece of memorabilia. The checklist includes Bryant, Yasmany Tomas, Archie Bradley, Rusney Castillo and Addison Russell. Look for Button and
  Laundry Tag parallels numbered to eight or less.
• The new Immaculate Auto Quad Materials insert pairs an autograph with four pieces of memorabilia from a checklist of players that includes Brett, Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr. and Manny Machado. Look for Prime and Premium parallels numbered to five or less.
• The new Immaculate Dual Auto Materials insert features two players, two pieces of memorabilia, two
  autographs and classic pairings such as Jose Canseco/Rickey Henderson, Nolan Ryan/Pete Rose, Cal Ripken Jr./George Brett and Byron Buxton/Kris Bryant.
• The new Shadowbox Material Signatures insert adds a compelling jumbo-memorabilia twist and a Silhouette design to the unique shadowbox concept, with on-card autographs and Prime and Premium parallels numbered to as low as one.

With one masterful debut release last season, the revered Immaculate brand made a dashing impression on baseball collectors across the country by delivering some of the biggest, sickest, nastiest and most coveted jumbo prime memorabilia cards of 2014 or any other season. Those spectacular specimens (featuring massive pieces of cleats, fielding gloves, batting gloves, jerseys and more) immediately raised expectations for any Immaculate Baseball release to follow.

Well, the highly anticipated encore — 2015 Immaculate Baseball — is about to follow. And it is a blockbuster. Over the last several days, Panini America Baseball Brand Managers Wes Elliott and Micah Layton have been hard at work Quality Controlling and packing out the product over at the company production facility across town. Luckily for all of us, Elliott has been pulling double duty by snapping as many drool-worthy pics as possible with his trusty smartphone.


In the explosive gallery that follows, we bring you the first of many sneak peeks at the clearly immaculate 2015 Immaculate Baseball, with a stern focus on the product’s jumbo prime memorabilia inclusions featuring the likes of Ichiro, Kris Bryant, Barry Bonds, Paul Molitor, Mike Trout, Jose Abreu, the late Tony Gwynn and more. The product begins shipping today and will go live in hobby shops across North America next Friday.
