Full disclosure: In the interest of time (and playing catch-up), we’re dedicating today here at The Knight’s Lance to previewing in rapid-fire fashion the newest products that have been solicited by the Panini America sales team in recent weeks. By our count, we’ve yet to post preliminary product information on five recent product solicitations from the worlds of baseball, basketball, football and racing. In order to rectify the situation, we’re going to streamline things here today by highlighting key product information taken directly from the PIS document for each of the products, one post at a time.


So buckle your seatbelt and get ready as we spend the next few hours previewing 2019 Victory Lane Racing, 2019 Legacy Football, 2018-19 Noir Basketball, 2019 Luminance Football and 2019 Leather & Lumber Baseball. We’ve already previewed the first two. Now we’re showcasing 2018-19 Noir Basketball. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional information.

Release Date: May 29, 2019

Product Configuration: 10 cards per pack, one pack per box,  four boxes per master case.

BREAK: Seven autograph or memorabilia cards per box, on average.

• Look for the wildly popular Spotlight Signatures set, featuring veterans, legends and the 2018-19 NBA Rookie Class, including Luka Dončić, Trae Young, Deandre Ayton and more.

• Look for super-short-printed base cards, including Metal Frame Alternate variations of veterans, legends and rookies, and Feature Length, Split Screen, and Vintage Art all numbered to 25 or less.

• All autographs in Noir are signed on-card.

While folks across the country are busy right about now taking in one summer blockbuster after another at the movie theater, many hoops collectors are anticipating a summer blockbuster of their own: Panini America’s 2018-19 Noir Basketball. A big-budget thriller with a movie motif, Panini America’s Noir Basketball franchise has earned a reputation for always being red-carpet ready with a bevy of clean designs and content-rich autograph and memorabilia masterpieces.


By largely sticking to that familiar-but-proven script, 2018-19 Noir Basketball — which releases on Wednesday — is equipped to thrill once again this season. On average, each hobby box (10 cards per box, four boxes per case) will deliver seven autographs. Bold new additions such as the Sneaker Spotlight and Reigning Nights autograph inserts fit nicely alongside staple draws like Spotlight Signatures.
