Panini America’s New Chronicles Baseball to Honor the Hottest Players of 2017 Season




When you have a cast of rookie performers as spectacular as the one we’re witnessing in baseball this season, well, you need a unique trading card product to chronicle all of the action. And that’s exactly what Panini America is planning with 2017 Chronicles Baseball, a dynamic offering that brings up to seven different Rookie Cards for many of 2017’s hottest performers into one product.

In addition to the product’s base Chronicles Rookies subset, collectors also will be able to chase new Rookie Cards from some of Panini America’s most popular brands including Donruss Rated Rookies, Contenders Rookie Tickets, Prizm, Spectra Rookie Jersey Autographs, Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs and Absolute Rookies.


On average, each hobby box of 2017 Chronicles Baseball (five cards per pack, 12 packs per box, 16 boxes per case) will deliver four autograph or memorabilia cards, and a variety of compelling inserts and parallels from up to seven different programs. The unique collecting experience will begin when the product arrives in mid November.


Additional highlights of the product include . . .

• The legendary Mickey Mantle will be featured in the following sets: Chronicles Base, Chronicles Swatches, Prizm, Triple Threat Materials, Gold Standard Base, Tools of the Trade Double/Triple/Quad/Five.

• On-card autographs in Spectra Rookie Jersey Autographs, Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs and Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs Double.

• Panini America’s first Gold Standard Baseball cards. Find on-card rookie autographs paired with oversized swatches numbered to 199 or less.

• Panini America’s first Spectra Baseball cards. Find on-card rookie autographs paired with an oversized swatches and including six different colorful parallels.

• Chronicles’ base and rookie sets center around headlines, moments, milestones and debuts. The story starts on the card front and continues on the card back.

• Prizm returns as part of Chronicles in 2017; look for base, rookies and autographs.

• Chronicles Autographs features top rookies, current stars and retired greats with a headline, moment, milestone or debut.

• The popular Absolute brand returns to baseball for the first time since 2005, highlighted by Rookies, Rookie Premiere Materials Autographs and Tools of the Trade Materials.

Panini America’s new 2017 Chronicles Baseball is like a melting pot of multi-product magnificence, a unique, catchall kind of release featuring new additions to several key Panini America product’s — including some you’ve seen in baseball (like staples Donruss and Prizm) and some you haven’t (like Gold Standard, Spectra and more). Of course, 2017 Chronicles Baseball also delivers its own base set, too; one that pays tribute to the biggest rookies and developments from the 2017 season.
