2018 Topps Museum Collection Baseball continues with the line’s focus on high-end elegance. Now a veteran brand in the company’s portfolio, hobby boxes continue to come packaged with four single-pack mini boxes. In each mini box is an autograph or memorabilia card of some kind.





Hits are divided up into four different categories with one of each landing in every master box. That works out to an autographed relic, on-card autograph, premium relic and a quad relic.


2018 Topps Museum Collection Baseball Autographs

Archival Autographs are where the majority of the on-card signatures come from. The large checklist covers multiple generations past and present. All come numbered including three levels of parallels: Copper (/50 or less), Gold (/25 or less) and Emerald (1/1).






A couple of particularly high-end signed inserts are back for another year. Premium Print Autographs (/25) show contrast with a black and white photo and gold ink signature. Museum Framed Autographs, one of the brand’s hallmarks, is a case hit once more. Silver Frame versions have 15 copies each. Tougher parallels come in Gold Frame (/10), Black Frame (/5) and Wood Frame (1/1).





Museum Framed Autograph Patch Cards put a new spin on the concept. All done as one-of-ones, they add a large piece of a game-worn patch. This is the first time these types of cards have been a part of Museum Collection.





Momentous Material Jumbo Patch Autographs may not have the frame, but they have the signature (albeit, with a sticker) and over-sized swatch. Base versions have no more than 15 copies each. Parallels are Gold (/5) and Emerald (1/1).





2018 Topps Museum Collection Baseball has dual and triple autographs. Often, these rely on stickers. Not here. They’re hard-signed. Dual Autographs have 15 copies each while Triple Autographs are numbered to 5.

For those looking for autographed relics with multiple bits of gear, Signature Swatches Dual and Triple Relic Autographs return. One of the few place to have labelled autographs, dual versions have Copper (/50 or less), Gold (/25) and Emerald (1/1) parallels. Triple relic autographs use the same colors but in smaller numbers: Copper (/25 or less), Gold (/5) and Emerald (1/1).





Memorabilia Cards

The prime relics in 2018 Topps Museum Collection Baseball have a patch or premium-style swatch in them. These start with Meaningful Material. None have more than 50 copies each with parallels coming in Copper (/35), Gold (/25), Red (/10) and Emerald (1/1).

Dual Meaningful Material Relics (/50 or less) take a two-player approach. These have three parallels: Copper (/35), Red (/10) and Emerald (1/1).






Momentous Material Jumbo Patch (/5) cards are back. The swatch here are big — usually some of the biggest of the year from Topps.





Carrying a name like Museum implies some high standards. A trio of one-of-one relic inserts deliver some significant swatches. Museum Memorabilia focuses on MLB logos cut from game-worn uniforms. There’s also a similar version that uses laundry tags instead.

Finally, there’s Jumbo Lumber Bat Nameplates that use the personalized part of the barrel from game-used bats.


The one-per-box quad relics come with both single- and four-player versions. Base versions are numbered no higher than 99. Parallels are available in Copper (/75 or less), Gold (/25) and Emerald (1/1).






Primary Pieces Quad Relic Legends (/25 or less) have pieces of gear from all-time greats. Gold (/10) and Emerald (1/1) are the only parallels for these.






Base Set

The 2018 Topps Museum Collection Baseball main set has 100 cards. As usual, it’s a fairly broad mix of vets, Rookie Cards and retired players. While there isn’t a lot of depth due to the size, it does ensure that the players who are on the checklist are usually key names.

Each pack comes with one parallel. Copper are the only ones that aren’t serial numbered. Others include Sapphire (/150), Amethyst (/99), Ruby (/50) and Emerald (1/1).



Canvas Collection Inserts

Museums are a place to find works of art. Similarly, 2018 Topps Museum Collection Baseball brings back Canvas Collection inserts. These rely on drawings and paintings rather than photographs.

Canvas Collection Reprints are, once again, a box hit landing 1:4 packs.

Canvas Collection Originals all have the art done directly on the card. These are similar to a sketch card only with a high level of detail and intricacy. Canvas Collection Autographs take this idea a step further, pairing a player signature with the original art.
